1. Sept – SUSI Partners, in coordination with eps Value and F.I.T. Timber Growth Fund, organized an event on sustainable investment opportunities at the prestigious Zürcher Yacht Club. The event focused on investment opportunities with low volatility, stable return, and environmental/social dividends. Raphael Domajna of PlanetSolar was invited as a guest speaker to share his story of initiating and developing the world’s largest solar yacht. Following his presentation, former EWZ CEO and SUSI Partners Advisor Gianno Operto moderated a heated panel discussion on solar parks, panel producers and solar storage mediums – trees. The participants included Tobias Reichmuth of SUSI Partners, Peter Letter of eps Value and Reinhold Glauner of F.I.T. Timber Growth Fund. The evening concluded with a networking apéro on the pier of the ZYC accompanied by excellent Italian wine from the Grattamacco vineyard.

1-Aug-2011 SUSI Energy Efficiency AG and Sustainable SARL are pleased to announce the appointment of Patrick Fankhauser as Fund Manager and Co-Founder of the new SUSI Energy Efficiency Fund.
Mr. Fankhauser brings a wealth of experience in managing real estate operations and service contracts. He was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse responsible for the building operations across the entire real estate portfolio and has an extensive track record in managing long-term service contracts. His profile is complemented by experience as an entrepreneur in North America, where he launched and operated a property and facility management company. Furthermore, Mr Fankhauser has worked in strategy consulting for The Boston Consulting Group and Booz Allen & Hamilton. He holds a Master degree in economics from the University of Basle.

Energy efficiency offers enormous environmental and economic saving potential to existing buildings and public infrastructures (e.g. street lights). In Europe, public and private buildings are responsible for more than 40% of entire energy consumption.

With new accessible technologies, building energy consumption can be reduced up to 30% by simply modernizing a building’s technical components (i.e. ventilation, boiler, etc).

Seeking to exploit this potential, SUSI Partners will advise energy efficiency funds that allow for the deployment of advance energy saving technology in society’s existing structures. The SUSI Energy Efficiency Funds enable owners to rehabilitate their buildings at no cost. The funds in return receive a portion of the energy savings over a determined period. Not only do the funds offer attractive returns (8%+) and low market correlation, but they also have fixed-income characteristics. This is due by a minimum saving guarantee from the funds’ technological partners and by low risk financing. A Swiss franc and Euro compartment allows for Swiss and European investments.
